Stop Withholding and Start Giving

Giving

Let's talk about giving today. We won't really be talking about giving something out for free, so this is not a post about charity work. What I want to talk about is giving yourself out to the world. Unfortunately for most of my life I feel I wasn't a giver. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a selfish guy, nor am I Scrooge. What I'm talking about is withholding myself, withholding all the value that I have in myself, all the skills, knowledge and kind heart.

If I would ask you; have you really given the world what's most valuable in you? Today, have you shared your best to the people you came in contact with? You see, I have a strong feeling, that we both don't try hard enough, nor do we value what we do enough, especially in financial terms.

Let me tell you a story.

On the day that I was supposed to make my very first cold call I felt really terrible. The idea of offering something to a person I don't know just felt bad. No wonder I was terrible at it. After all it felt as if I'm trying to rip someone off.

I started working at a rental studio overlooking the Hudson in New York City and the owner asked me to call up a few people from a list and ask, if they don't need to book any time for some photo sessions. It wasn't even a real cold call, they new the studio and were on good terms, I was just new there. Yet I couldn't shake off the feeling, that I'm offering something they don't want.

Dean

Many years have passed and I've become so much better at selling, that's because I completely stopped selling, I give now. It all turned around when I heard Dean Graziosi speak about selling. In short, if what you have is highly valueble to people, if you're not trying to harm someone, but offer it to make a positive effect on their life, then not making that call is in fact selfish. You're keeping it all to yourself.

Every one of us has so much to give and a lot of the interactions we have are in fact selling. We might not be selling a course to our spouse, but we are often selling ourselves. And unfortunately in most situations we greatly downplay our value. But what's more, we even don't bring out our best and don't offer it.

So now, with my wonderful team, we're making apqa and we truly believe it will help many people. Wouldn't it be bad, if I don't give my best to offer it to as many people as possible? After all I really want to make a difference in people's life, in your life. But you can apply this to about anything in life. If you give your absolute best in every single thing you do, your life will explode in a matter of weeks, not years.

Money?

You see the thing about money is that it's energy. Yeah, sure there are the paper bills and coins, plus a digital ledger in your bank. But it's all energy, which you can use however you choose. So this energy gives you the freedom to express yourself. You use it when you want something, which has value for you and you receive energy for creating value for others. The more people I can reach, give them my app or this post, the more energy will come back, if it's helping. And it won't be just money.

Before I opened my heart I used to think work is a materialistic occupation, which I have to do as we live in a capitalist system. But that is such a terrible idea. You can't separate your work, from the rest of your life. Life is not a piece off pie you can slice up and divide. We have one life and one heart. If you don't give yourself fully during your working hours, neither can you do it with your family.

So why give? Why give yourself fully to what you do, why try to make this world a better place for you and for me? If not to make you smile, do it for the freedom of earning more, as there is no such possibility, it's physically impossible, that you will receive more than you give.

Have an amazing day!
Tomasz
